Sue Springer

Helman Elementary School in Ashland , Oregon recently installed a large sign for the school to welcome students.  Bcause the school mascot is “Henry the Helman Dragon”, artist Sue Springer was commissioned to dreate a permanent ceramic panel in the school colors depicting Henry in all his fire-breathing glory.

Two large recessed ovals were created when the sign was made to accommodate the ceramic art.

As the school year opens in September 2013, Henry is permanently installed to welcome students and teachers back to school
